Boo to NFL Network

I must preface this by saying that I love the NFL. I think it is great. I even love the idea of the NFL Network. However, I loathe the fact that I do not get it. It is not on cable. Tonight will be its second broadcast of a live game, and both last week's and this week's matchups are really good. It makes me even more angry about Monday Night Football going to the dogs. Anyway. This was not meant to be long. Just a random rant.

Most Over-rated

I thought it might be fun to see who thinks what about who. Please leave messages on this.

Who is more over-rated by position?

QB-- Matt Hasselbeck, Aaron Brooks, or Eli Manning
RB--Willis Mcgahee, Cadillac Williams, or Jamal Lewis
WR--Chris Chambers, Antwan Randle-El, Drew Bennett
TE--Jerramy Stevenson, Tony Gonzalez, or Jeremy Shockey

Mine would be Hasselbeck, McGahee, Randle-El, and Stevenson.
Reasons: Hasselbeck has too many good WR's and Shaun Alexander keeps everyone from blitzing. He throws a lot of interceptions and doesn't posess the ability to throw the ball farther than 40 yards in the air. McGahee was good...in college. Then he got hurt and even though he has shown flashes he is nowhere close to what he once was. Many people still think he is what he was...not even close. Antwan Randle-El was the exact opposite of a bargain for the Redskins. They paid him way too much money for the few things he can do. He can return punts, and throw the ball on trick plays. He has to be in open space to catch the ball. He is short, and doesn't make plays in traffic. Stevenson's career highlight so far has been getting kneed in the balls by an Oakland player and getting beat-down in a smack-off with Joey Porter. Who are you? You drop touchdown passes. You don't block. Your mother can't even spell Jeremy correctly. You are a tight end. You are not supposed to talk smack or showboat.
I hope to get some fun responses.

Floyd Reese...Not so Goat-y

All season long the Titans have been surrounded by the big question. Who will be fired? Jeff Fisher or Floyd Reese. Most people still believe that Reese will be fired and for legitimate reasons. All Fisher does is try to make sense of the assortment of players that he has been given but look at what the Titans did yesterday against the Giants. More importantly, who did what against the Giants.

Vince Young looked as impressive as he has all season in the 4th quarter. He looked calm but yet excitedly competitive. His experiences in college really showed yesterday as he led his team from 21 points down. It was impressive.

Pac Man Jones was a one-man defensive juggernaut. Two Interceptions and a pretty nifty little punt return during which the Giants punt team looked totally confused. Follow the floating Darth Vader helmet!!!

It was a tag-team affair between our most recent first-round picks. Now back to Floyd Reese. I am ready to concede that both PacMan and Vince Young were good picks. (If you don't like PacMan, look at the alternative, Antrel Rolle, wasting away in Arizona. Pac Man is way better)
Add into that the fact that last year we drafted Michael Roos in the 2nd, who is now the starting left tackle, which is regarded as the most important offensive line spot given a right-handed QB. Brandon Jones, the 3rd rounder, caught a big touchdown yesterday. This years 2nd round pick, LenDale White, has yet to show what he can do, but he should be good. Tulloch is a really good linebacker and we got him in (I think) the 4th this year. Then you look at the free agents Reese coaxed to Tennessee. Mawae, Hope, Givens, and Thornton. While Givens has been hurt, the others have all been steady players. Maybe Floyd is doing a little better than anyone realizes.

Also, the best post game quote yesterday was from Brandon Jacobs of the Giants. When asked about the loss he said "it hurts, especially when you should beat the sh** out of some team." Then when asked the follow-up question of why he thought they should beat the sh** out of the Titans he said simply "because they suck". That's no way for daddy Coughlin's lil' boy to talk. Now be a good lad and fetch daddy's slippers and make him a sandwich, while your team crumbles from within. At least you get all the TD's.
